Growing up in the mountains of Colorado, Gill Montgomery developed a passion for these giants and the outdoors at an early age. Finding photography through middle school dark room classes, Gill has spent the past two and a half decades photographing the natural world leading to shows across the West and publication in Freeskier Magazines Photo Annual.
With an educational background in fine art, Gill learned to experiment with multiple photographic and artistic practices. Motivate by photography and an anachronistic style of art making, gill aims to create dreamy, mind captivating art pieces rooted in nature and the beauty of making things with your hands. Balancing between the natural element of the wood and the digital perfection of the photograph this series aims to captivate the viewer’s mind into a space between the uncontrolled wild and precise digitalism.
